Furniture design studio, make a piece of furniture. Timeline: Seven Weeks
EBBA is a piece of changing furniture; each use will cause a different interaction between the sitter and the latex blobs full of non-Newtonian fluid. This project began with experimentation involving latex balloons and moved quickly to making my own latex balloons using a mold. While I was able to successfully manufacture several large, unique, shaped balloons, they did not have the surface quality that comes with a factory made balloon. My balloons were extremely prone to popping. This resulted in purchasing balloons and creating a chair that gave a unique feeling during rest as well as an interesting exchange between the sitter and the non-Newtonian blobs.
